The Aussies were left to rue an ill-timed sickness that haunted them on the third day of the second cricket Test against South Africa on Tuesday as Temba Bavuma scored a stunning century to completely turn the game. The Proteas captain made 179 while Marco Jansen and Simon Harmer chipped in with 85 and 82 respectively.
The hosts went from 6-110 to declaring at 9-425 before knocking over Nic Maddison for 0 to leave Australia 1-3 at stumps. It was a disastrous day in the field for Australia that started with Josh Hazlewood being banned from bowling for the entire first session.
Hazlewood was struck down by a stomach bug on Monday that meant he didn't take the field for the entirety of the second day. He only ended up being off the ground for about 30 overs due to rain, but under ICC rules he was barred from bowling for an equivalent amount of time on day three.
The rule is designed to prevent teams from resting their bowlers off the field in between their spells. It meant Hazlewood wasn't allowed to bowl for the entire first session on Tuesday despite being back on the field.
In his absence, Beau Webster was asked to bowl the most overs of his Test career, sending down a total of 19 with his part-time seamers. Fellow part-timers Matt Renshaw, Marnus Labuschagne and Nic Maddinson sent down 15 between them as the decision not to play Nathan Lyon came back to bite Australia.

Mitchell Starc said after play: "Coming into the game you don't know you're going to be a man down, do you? Beau bowled a lot more than he probably expected to and I thought he bowled quite nicely, he beat the bat quite a lot. He probably played that holding role.
"If you know you're going to be a man down from the start, you're probably going with a different make up aren't you? But unfortunately Josh had a dodgy prawn or something. He'll have fresh legs for the second innings."
Even when he was free to bowl, Hazlewood was limited to just nine overs in total on Tuesday as he still felt the effects of his illness. He ended up with 0-43 off 14 overs, while Aussie captain Pat Cummins also went wicketless in 26 overs. Scott Boland took 5-81 in a standout performance for the tourists, while Mitchell Starc bagged 3-89.
