Field Hockey’s Colleen Finnan Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK — Villanova field hockey senior Colleen Finnan has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Tuesday. It is Finnan's third straight nod to the Weekly Honor Roll.

The honor marks the fifth Weekly Honor Roll selection of Finnan's career and third this season. With the nomination, she makes history as the first Wildcat in program history to make the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll in three consecutive weeks.

Over the weekend against Saint Joseph's, Finnan tallied two points on a goal to go with a .666 shot-on-goal percentage on three shots. The senior played a crucial role in facilitating the comeback try for Villanova. She scored a pivotal goal late in the fourth quarter that cut the Hawks' lead down to one; however, VU still fell to SJU 4-3.

The goal marked Finnan's eighth of the season, which now ties her for second most on Villanova. Additionally, Sunday was the third straight game that Finnan has scored and her fourth goal in five games.

Finnan continues to climb the rankings across the BIG EAST and now sits in the top 10 in several categories. She currently sits sixth in shots with 38, seventh in shots on goal with 21, and is tied for sixth most points across all players in the BIG EAST with 20.

Finnan and the Villanova field hockey team will continue their 2026 season with a BIG EAST contest against Providence on the road at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 23. The 'Cats will then head to Wagner for their final non-conference game on Sunday, October 25, at 12 p.m.
